AI-UpskillEd emerges as a strategic response to the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education. AI is reshaping how we teach, learn, and manage educational processes. While it brings opportunities for efficiency, personalization, and innovation, it also raises critical questions about ethics, privacy, and the role of human agency.

The European Union’s Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027) envisions a future of high-quality, inclusive, and accessible digital education. AI-UpskillEd aligns with this vision by addressing two key priorities:

• Building trust in AI ecosystems through ethical and responsible integration.
• Maximizing AI’s benefits while minimizing risks, ensuring that technology enhances—not replaces—the human dimension of education.

Our Objectives

• Strengthen Higher Education (HE) capacity to deliver AI-integrated online learning.
• Equip educators with the skills to engage critically, ethically, and effectively with AI.
• Foster synergies between HE, Adult Education (AE), Vocational Education and Training (VET), and Youth programs.
• Promote transferability of academic courses to AE and VET contexts.

• Competency Matrices for AI integration (EQF 6 and EQF 4).
• AI-focused courses and micro-credentials for educators and learners.
• Toolkit for AI eCourses and an Online Repository of AI Resources.
• Guidelines and policy recommendations for ethical AI in education.
• Webinars, validation events, and dissemination seminars to share knowledge and best practices.
